Thanksgiving
What are these things:
1) To give contributions
2) To do good
3) To fast
4) To give thanks
Bible support verses of the four:
To fast - read Matthew 6:16-18
How? To make it a secret and dont let others notice it that you fast.
Why do we need to fast? - read Mark 9:28-29
The answer: There is a demon that only by fasting and praying is it shall be casted out from a person's body.
Commandment to give thanks but voluntarily - read 1 Chronicles 29:9 and 1 Chronicles 29:11-13.
God is the owner of heaven, earth, riches, and healing etc.
TO DO GOOD AND GIVE THANKS:
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
What to do before offering sacrifices?
1) Matthew 5: 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
2) 1 John 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
When offering thanksgiving:
Colossians 3: 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
It is the will of God that can be read in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
We must sing to God - Psalms 105:12, Colossians 3:16-17.
By fasting, read this: Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
The benefit of offering thanksgiving and to do good:
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
